معايير تمديد الكبلات  Cabling Standards

- قبل العام 1991:

لم تكن هناك معايير تعرف طبيعة تمديد الكبلات المستعملة للشبكات LAN، غي مواصفات الطبقة المادية في معايير بروتوكول طبقة وصلة البيانات والمواد التي ينشئها صانعو منتجات التشبيك المحددة.

- Prior to 1991:

there were no standards defining the nature of the cabling used for LANs, other than the physical layer specifications in the data-link layer protocol standards and materials created by manufacturers of specific networking products.

- It was eventually recognized that:

the networking industry needed a standard defining a cabling system that could support a variety of networking technologies.

- To address this need:

the American National Standards Institute(ANSI), the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA), and the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), along with a consortium of telecommunications companies, developed a document called the ANSI/EIA/TIA-568 Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling Standard.

- The T568-B standard defines:

a structured cabling system for voice and data communications in office environments that has a usable life span of at least 10 years, that supports the products of multiple technology vendors.

- ويمكنه أن يستعمل أحد أنواع الكبلات التالية:

■ المجدول الغير مغلف (UTP) (100 أوم ، 22 أو 24 AWG)

■ المجدول المغلف (STP) (150 أوم)

■ الألياف البصرية المتعددة الصيغ (125/62.5 ملم)

■ الألياف البصرية الأحادية الصيغة (125/8.3 ملم)

- and that can use any of the following cable types:

■ Unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) (100 ohm, 22 or 24 AWG)

■ Shielded twisted-pair (STP) (150 ohm)

■ Multimode optical fiber (62.5/125 mm)

■ Single-mode optical fiber (8.3/125 mm)

- لكل نوع من الكبلات، يعرؔف المعيار العناصر التالية:

■ ميزات الكبل والصفات التقنية التي تحدد مستوى أداء الكبل

■ الطوبولوجيا ومواصفات طول قسم الكبل

■ مواصفات الموصل ومخططات الدبابيس (التي تحدد وظيفة كل سلك في الكبل)

- For each cable type, the standard defines the following elements:

■ Cable characteristics and technical criteria determining the cable’s performance level

■ Topology and cable segment length specifications

■ Connector specifications and pinouts (which specify the function of each wire in the cable)

- يتضمن المعيار أيضا مواصفات لتمديد الكبل ضمن مساحة المبنى. في فعل هذا التقسيم، يقسم المعيار المبنى إلى الأنظمة الفرعية التالية:

- The standard also includes specifications for the installation of the cable within the building space. In doing this, the standard divides the building into the following subsystems:

■ Building entrance The location where the building’s internal cabling interfaces with outside cabling

■Telecommunications closet The location of localized telecommunications equipment such as the interface between the horizontal cabling and the backbone

■ Equipment room The location of equipment providing the same functions as that in a telecommunications closet, but which might be more complex

■ Backbone cabling The cabling that connects the building’s various equipment rooms, telecommunications closets, and the building entrance, as well as connections between buildings in a campus network environment

■ Horizontal cabling The cabling and other hardware used to connect the telecommunications closet to the work area

■Work area The components used to connect the telecommunications outlet to the workstation

- لذا فإن تمديدا نموذجا للكبل في مبنى عصري قد يتألف من العناصر التالية:

■ كبلات للهاتف الخارجي والخدمات الأخرى  تدخل عبر مدخل المبنى وتمد إلى غرفة المعدات، التي تحتوي على نظام Private Branch Exchange ( أو PBX، المقسم الفرعي الخصوصي) و ملقمات الشبكة ومعدات أخرى.

■شبكة عمود فقري توصل غرفة المعدات بمختلف خزائن الاتصالات عن بعد في كل أرجاء المبنى، التي تحتوي على أجهزة الاتصال الشبكي كموزعات الكبلات أو البدالات أو الجسور أو الموجهات.

■ تبدأ الكبلات الأفقية في خزائن الاتصالات عن بعد  وتمد إلى نواحي العمل، متوقفة عند المآخذ الجدارية.

- Thus, a typical cable installation for a modern building might consist of the following elements:

■ Cables for external telephone and other services enter through the building entrance and run to the equipment room, which contains the Private Branch Exchange (PBX) system, network servers, and other equipment.

■ A backbone network connects the equipment room to various telecommunications closets throughout the building, which contain network connection devices such as hubs, switches, bridges, or routers.

■ Horizontal cabling originates in the telecommunications closets and runs out into the work areas, terminating at wall plates.

■ The wall plates in the work area are connected to computers and other equipment using patch cables.
